eSync Alliance Update: All Members Meeting Special

eSync Alliance Update: All Members Meeting Special

As I sit at my desk here in Chicago, with fall rolling now in full swing, I am excited to know that our All-Members Meeting will soon be upon us. The All-Members Meeting, which takes place each November, is a fantastic opportunity to bring together our members from across the world to discuss the latest trends, elect new leaders and set the direction for the coming year. I’m reminded too, that while it may be fall for some of us, our colleagues in the southern hemisphere are indeed enjoying spring, which may be a more fitting season for the state of automotive technology. I hope you will agree that after a long gestation, we are starting to see the green shoots of progress in the softwaredefined vehicle (SDV). But, if the industry wants SDVs to blossom and bear fruit, it must recognise the crucial role that OTA plays in their development, and the importance of a standardized, bi-directional platform to facilitate it. That’s why the theme of this year’s All-Members Meeting is The Necessary Role ofOTA in the SDV. At our meeting on 14 November, we will invite representatives fromour members as well as outside organisations to discuss the role of the digital twin, containerization and service-orientated vehicle diagnostics in the development of OTA for the SDV. We’re looking forward to welcoming all of our members to the meeting and I encourage you to read on for more exciting news on guest speakers, the agenda for the day and our member roundtable. Finally, if you work for a company that is a member of the eSync Alliance, and you would like to attend but don’t know who your representative is, simply email info@esyncalliance.org and our team will be sure to help.

Guest Speakers Announced

The eSync Alliance is excited to announce that this year’s All-Members Meeting will feature two guest speakers. Michael Entner-Gomez is one of our industry’s most vocal – and sometimes provocative – commentators on the SDV. With more than three decades’ experience on the front lines of technology for the likes of Cognizant, PwC and Verizon, Michael lays claim to the SDV architecture that set a benchmark for the industry alongside Windriver and Aptiv. Michael will provide our All-Members Meeting with a valuable ‘outside’ perspective, speaking about his views on the SDV as it stands today and in the future, while also touching on OTA’s role in SDV development. Our second guest speaker will represent our latest collaborative partner, ASAM. Following the signing of our landmark MOU to explore over-the-air service-oriented vehicle diagnostics (OTA SOVD), the All-Members Meeting will have the opportunity to learn more about this exciting organisation. ASAM will also use its speaker slot to address the subject of collaboration and its importance as the industry moves forward in the era of the SDV.

All-Members Meeting Agenda Now Available

The full All-Members Meeting agenda has now been released. The agenda details the full details of the meeting, which – as well as our insightful guest speakers – will include updates from each of the eSync Alliance Working Groups, news on recent activity with our liaison and partner organisations, as well as an all-new Member Roundtable. Attendees to the All-Members Meeting will also be the first to learn the latest details about any upcoming news on specifications and standards. If you are an eSync Alliance member, you can find the agenda on the front page of the members portal.

Join the Member Roundtable

At this year’s All-Members Meeting we are encouraging as many of our members as possible to take part and be visible. That’s why we’re launching the All-Members Meeting Member Roundtable. The Member Roundtable is a great opportunity for members to fully engage with the AllMembers Meeting. During the roundtable, we will hear from new members on their view of the Alliance so far and where they have seen value from membership to-date. A crosssection of our membership will share their experiences and use cases of eSync, while also discussing their hopes for the future of the Alliance. During the Member Roundtable, we will invite input from across our membership, with anyone watching able to put forward a comment or question to the group. Don’t know your eSync Alliance representative? Contact us! If you work at an organization that you believe to be an eSync Alliance Member, and you would like to attend the All-Members Meeting but don’t know who your company representative is, simply email info@esyncalliance.org and our team will be sure to help.
