Mark your Calendar: this year’s All Member Meeting of the eSync Alliance will take place on November 14.
If you’ve been following this newsletter for a while, you will by now be used to me sharing my views about the importance of collaboration in developing effective automotive OTA. And guess what? Today is no different. Well, partly. Today, instead of telling you the many ways in which eSync Alliance members can collaborate in the development of automotive OTA, I want to recognize the partner organisations that we collaborate with to aid the advancement of the software-defined vehicle. In our history, we have built strong and proactive relationships with several organizations, among these are COVESA, the Autoware Foundation and SOAFEESIG. Each of these organisations plays a vital role in advancing automotive OTA. COVESA develops open standards for connected vehicle ecosystems, with our collaboration focused on standardizing data types for expanded interoperability. The Autoware Foundation focuses on open-source software for autonomous driving, and we work with them to enable continuous refinement and integration of autonomous systems via OTA updates. SOAFEE bridges cloud and embedded systems with a scalable architecture; our work together supports the reliable management of containerized software over-the-air, which is crucial for enhancing vehicle performance and adaptability. Working with these partners and collaborating on projects and initiatives has enabled us to build an OTA platform and standard that is more robust, adaptable, reliable and enabling for the software-defined vehicle. It has empowered the industry in general to benefit from OTA as a standard component in the toolset of
advanced software techniques.. And now, we have a new partner, ASAM or the Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems. Our recently signed MOU will see both
organizations investigate how the eSync Alliance specification can support ASAM’s SOVD standard in the software-defined vehicle We welcome this new partnership, and I encourage you to read more about it in the story below.
eSync Alliance and ASAM Partner for Enhanced OTA Vehicle Diagnostics
The eSync Alliance has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ASAM to explore integrating eSync’s bi-directional OTA pipeline with ASAM’s serviceoriented vehicle diagnostics (SOVD)
standard. This collaboration aims to develop a unified approach for remote diagnostics in softwaredefined vehicles. The partnership will produce a whitepaper and a proof-of-concept demonstration, paving the way for a standardized, plug-and-play solution that automakers can seamlessly integrate into future vehicle platforms.

From the Chair’s desk: eSync Alliance at six years old
Did you know that the eSync Alliance recently celebrated its sixth anniversary? In this blog, Chair of the Board, Shrikant Acharya, looks back on the journey so far, and discusses the role that the Alliance is playing in ushering in the future of the Software Defined Vehicle. This is the first in a regular series in which we will hear ‘From the Chair’s desk’, with unique insight and industry commentary from Shrikant and the eSync Alliance’s leadership team.

Standardizing Success: A look back on the year so far
This year is proving to be an exceptionally productive one for the eSync Alliance so far, as we continue in our mission to drive the adoption of reliable, scalable and standardized automotive OTA. Take a look back on all we’ve achieved in the year so far, from groundbreaking technology demonstrations at leading events like CES, to launching our latest specification standard, and welcoming a host of new members.

Driving forward automotive OTA: how can you help?
The eSync Alliance is at its best when we all work together. A diversity of opinions, voices
and capabilities build a more complete and innovative approach to the challenges we face in developing a robust, scalable and reliable OTA platform. One way that all our members can get involved is by joining and participating in our regular Working Groups. Our Technical Working Group is responsible for the direction of all technical activities, such as setting the technology roadmap, producing documentation and managing external relationships. Alternatively, the Compliance Working Group enables you to provide input to our compliance specification and testing programmes. Meanwhile, our Marketing Working Group, allows you to have your say in how we position the eSync Alliance to the outside world. The Marketing Working Group meets every Tuesday morning US Central Time. To find out more about our Working Groups, or to join, visit our website.
