In my previous newsletter introductions, I’ve discussed the virtues of an industry standard. Wi-Fi, 5G, USB – in today’s connected world, it’s becoming increasingly hard to remember a time without them. But for the development community, standards mean much more than just convenience.
Regulation has been and will continue to be, a major factor in the future design, engineering, and development of vehicles. The World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations, better known to the industry as WP.29, is one of a number of organizations responsible for implementing such regulation. Of course, new directives often bring about new challenges for automakers and their suppliers. And at the pace in which the sector is evolving, it’s a challenge in itself to keep up with these everchanging demands.
This is where a standard comes into play. Through our members’ hard work and collaborative approach, our current eSync specification is capable of helping businesses comply with the recently announced WP.29 R155 and R156 regulations. In practice, that means that any member of the eSync Alliance has a pathway to meeting the latest wave of requirements for developing and deploying software. It just goes to show the power of our member community to achieve an industry-wide solution.
If you want to learn more about how eSync technology can help you to meet the new WP.29 regulations, visit our website and check out our blog
