I don’t know how it feels for you, but I’m amazed at how quickly the last 12 months have passed. Writing this end-of-year message, my thoughts are drawn to our collective accomplishments. I’m in no doubt that 2024 has been a proud and productive year for the eSync Alliance.
January’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas began a steady stream of activations and developments for the eSync Alliance. Stand out moments include the launch of version 2.2 of our specification, the demonstration of our eSync technology updating containerized software in an autonomous vehicle platform at AutoTech: Detroit, and the unveiling of our partnership with ASAM, to provide a blueprint for automakers of how eSync OTA can work together with service-oriented vehicle diagnostics (SOVD). Our efforts culminated in last month’s annual All-Members Meeting. It was great to welcome so many of you to that virtual gathering, where we handled statutory business, shared ideas
and enjoyed presentations from our keynote speakers.
As we all know, the automotive industry is changing at an unprecedented pace. The push towards decarbonisation sits side-by-side with the rise of the software-defined vehicle. Collaboration has, and continues to be, fundamental in addressing the challenges that sector-wide change brings. It’s been refreshing, therefore, to see the sustained growth of our membership base this year.
On behalf of the eSync Alliance board of directors, I’d like to thank everyone for their support and commitment in 2024. We’re already looking forward to a busy start to the new year.
In the meantime, I wish you a safe and prosperous holiday season.
Warm regards,
Mike Gardner, Executive Director, eSync Alliance
